Selection of the size of the nipples according to the baby's age was again consulted with experts: neurological therapists. Experts concluded that, according to the latest knowledge, the smallest nipple is more beneficial for children up to 6 months of age. Thanks to this, in this important period of life, babies have more space in the mouth for the tongue to work, which not only supports the protection of the sucking reflex, but also protects the proper development of speech and bite. This also influenced the selection of nipple for older children.

Following the latest expert guidelines, we are slowly introducing similar changes to standard LOVI soothers with a symmetrical shield. Therefore, for some time on store shelves and in online stores you will be able to find soothers of various age indication and nipple sizes: new and previous ones, which are also safe for protecting the sucking reflex and protecting the development of bite and speech.

If your child has already used standard LOVI soothers and is accustomed to the previous sizes of the nipples of these soothers, it is worth carefully looking at the size of the nipple on the shelf and using the following tips:

If your baby is: 

• aged 0-3 months, you can buy standard soothers marked 0-6m or 0-3m (small nipple)
• aged 3-6 months, you can buy standard soothers marked 0-6m (small nipple) or 3-6 (medium nipple) - before giving your baby a soother, check the size to make sure it will suit your baby.
• aged 6-18 months, you can buy standard soothers marked 6-18m (medium or large nipple will be available for some time) - before giving your baby a soother, check the size to make sure it will suit your baby.
• aged 18m+, you can buy soothers marked 18m+ (large nipple made of stronger, more bite-resistant silicone)
